No matter where you live, switch on the TV or open a paper and you’ll agree: China is everywhere. Human rights. Freedom of speech. Pollution. Earthquakes. Environmental disasters. Animal rights. Copyright infringements. Corruption. By reading these headlines and articles, one easily gets a dreadful image of life in China. With this series, Beijing Unsung – I intend to sing my love for another China, a side of Beijing that isn’t as widely covered by the media. Not the political angle, not the humanitarian angle, nor the one of the economy.

This is about the youth and its nights out, its music, its beer, sweat and freedom. This is about the celebration of life.
